OK, I guess I am officially OLD!

I went in to get my new driver's license and almost flunked the vision exam, so Friday I took myself off to my ophthalmologist.  Turns out I am just short of legally blind in the left eye due to a large cataract.  Given as how this has a significant impact on reading, fine embroidery, and computer work which are important to me, I decided to go ahead and have the cataract removed.  Surgery is scheduled for this coming Wednesday afternoon.  Following surgery I'll be wearing an eye patch for several days at least (Arrrrrr, me hearties!)  So I'm not certain how well I'll do on the computer until the patch is off since it would be a bit of a strain on the right eye.  So if you don't see me around for a few days it's not that I'm ignoring you.  Any good energy towards a successful outcome would be gratefully accepted.

Home again, surgery is over, everything went well.  I'm patched right now until I see the doctor tomorrow.  Of course the eye won't be completely healed for several weeks so I don't yet know how clear the vision will be.  But everything is looking good at the moment.

Things continue to go very well.  As of today my vision in that eye is a solid 20/20.  One more week and things should be done changing.
