Thanks, we plan to!

We'll be celebrating briefly at the instant of the equinox this Friday, and then getting together with some like-minded folk Saturday for a more extended observance.

The Equinoxes are what we call "working sabbats" here.  We don't have a feast or a circle with fire.  In fall, we care for winding down the gardens throughout September and in spring, we plan our plantings.

The only ritual thing done is the official "Feeding of the Stones"....I maintain a ring of stones round my property, each named for one of the family deities.  At the Equinoxes, I share food and/or drink with each stone and take a bit of time at each for meditation.

This year, they get wedding cake as a message of a new member of official family....I welcome the daughter and son-in-law of a friend to our family as adoptees.  The leftovers of their cake will be their introduction.

Blessed Mabon to all, and a happy Oestara to our members in the Southern Hemisphere!

I had a quiet celebration with my coven while Brock attended an open circle here in Huntsville.  But beginning with Samhain he is going to join the Outer Court with my coven and will hopefully be a Gard initiate by this time next year.

Thanks, Lark!  I realized that my hectic summer made me forget to check the Hellenic calendar for specific placement of Nekysia (a Hellenic commemoration of the dead...especially military dead), which is when I usually bring in the counting beads from the Walk.  So, instead, I will scrub clean the monument stone today, carry the beads inside before the damaging frosts begin, and put flowers on the stone.

And into the dark of the year we go!
