C'est moi!

It feels like ages since I dropped in; I guess I just don't feel I've a lot to offer here.

Life is, well, the ordinary mix of stress and collapse!
My youngest son's time in Afghanistan is almost up...anticipation of his foot hitting stateside earth is almost unbearable.

I am a mother-in-law again, he and his bride married by proxy before he left for Afghanistan and they were too embarrassed to reveal it to us.  I pretty much guessed when he brought her here on his leave--they acted married instead of boyfriend/girlfriend.  She seems sensible and has a darling little girl from a former marriage.

We shall soon be motorcycle-less for the first time in the 34 years of wedded life of Minotaur and I.  I gave my own Harley V-rod to my son and his new bride as a wedding gift, he was lusting over it.  And the Minotaur was rear-ended last week as he came home from work riding the BMW (the Bavarian b**** Bike).  It shook him up, tho' he was lucky enough not to be badly hurt.  The bike is lightly damaged, but being costly to repair, the insurance is calling it "totaled" instead of paying for repair.  To my surprise, my husband announced he is letting it go.

I killed my blog for the Labyrinth in March, but of course, continue with weekly rites there and keep the books of the dead and the growing strands of bead counters.  I am too tired for a public face of this deepening personal painful practice.  Having my own son in the war zone damn near busted my brain.  And yes, to my very great surprise, it did something positive for me that Bin Laden was killed.  I don't know if I could explain why, but it did.

I am finally considering the family male cries that I write a book.  Not one on any of my spiritual practices, however.  I am considering an allergy cookbook in an e-book format.  Considering slowly, skittishly.

Spiritually, my own struggle for belief is as always.  My skeptical mind vies with a sort of inborn superstition and my various deities hang in the cats-cradle between.  Hekate, Athena, and Gwynn ap Nudd/Herne stay foremost.  I remain deeply pantheistic, even when everything else falls into shadow.  I am spending much time in the gardens and shivering with our very cold spring.

I hope all of you are well, here.  Lark, I read on DW of Brock's diagnosis...but I am sure that with your help, he will march on as always.

It's good to see you on here again.  Things remain quiet on this board, but the old crew is still pretty much here.  Congratulations to you, your son and his new wife.  I hope they have many happy years together.

The cookbook sounds like a great project and something that's needed out there.  Are you thinking about self-publishing through Lulu??

You know, I know so little about this that I haven't even considered the publishing bit yet.  So, I don't know.  It won't happen until the summer bathroom remodel is done; I can only handle so much 'crazy' at one time!

But this fall, I figure I will start working...testing each and every recipe in the kitchen, writing the text up in a chatty style on my i-pad.
