Crazy Lady With Cats

WWW
« on: October 21, 2010, 09:42:19 AM »

Three weeks ago I went to an SCA event at Fall Creek Falls State Park here in Tennessee.  The morning we arrived I saw a tiny black and white kitten running loose in the woods and crying its heart out.  With a bit of luck and perseverance I managed to snag her and she immediately snuggled into my arms...so obviously not a feral.  Someone had chosen to dump a 6-7 week old kitten in the woods.  She was mostly skin and bones but still in pretty good shape.

On Monday following that weekend I took her to the vet for a checkup and she was pronounced healthy.  On the way home I stopped to go through the car wash.  I was afraid the kitten would be frightened, but not her.  When the cloth tentacles started hitting the car she sat up on her hind legs and hissed and spit at them.  Then and there I named her Macha!

She is now about nine weeks old and she is fierce!  She chases the big cats all over the house and attacks ankles when you're not looking.  And she has a purr-motor that never stops.

So say hello to Macha.

What a wee warrior kitty!  I really need to get pics of the two feline fuzzies here....both youngsters in the son's place out back.

Thank you for the rescue!

So cute!!  Smiley  I am doing clinical days at the animal shelter this month, and I just have that feeling...that I may need another furry friend in our family.  We will see what happens, and if I fall in love with any characters.
