The Dark Side Of The Moon

« on: August 03, 2010, 10:56:57 AM »

I have seen Portland, Portland, Portland...
Well, as Lady Lark has stated, (hope she doesn't mind me calling her that, it is a term of respect, as she IS the Admin here after all) and both of us have wondered, "Hmmmm...Portland...Maine? Oregon? The little village of Portland in Ohio, Nebraska somewhere? Yeah, I know, probably not, as there is no such thing, but still, you get my point.
Anyway, how's just the Pacific Northwest sound? After all, if you live in Seattle, then Portland is not that far away, right? See where I'm going here?
And as I live in the central Oregon coast of Lincoln City, a half block from the ocean, (yes, life is sweet), um...that does NOT mean for everyone from Salem, Eugene, AND Portland to all come down and say, "HI!". I say this with all honesty for I don't WANT anyone here or otherwise to bug me IRL. That's what this FORUM is for ppl.
Sorry, woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Still, hookups via the 'net are fine by me, but please, no, "OH! I live up in Newport/Waldport/Astoria, etc...why don't I come down, and we'll meet at some nifty cafe, and talk about athames and polkadot familiars! Oh, can you bring your "grimoire" (rolls eyes) with you, so I can copy down all your spells?"

Uh...NO.

So, that's my take on things here in this thread. Hey, if a Mod, or Lark herself thinks I'm out of line here, my sincere apologies. Feel free to mod it, PM me, etc., and I'll slap my own wrist, as I feel this is already close to the red hot line that shouldn't be crossed. Therefore, my apologies in advance, but this is just how I feel, as I've dealt with such experiences TOO often in the past.

Not a Mod,. but a long-time member here...

The Spider Web is explicitly for, well, networking. We here at Branwen's understand that not everyone is interested in this, so we made a place for those posts that allows people who want this to find others easily, and allows people who couldn't care less to know they should just skip all those posts.

Well, Jennie...
I too was a long time member. And I was here even before you were.
I don't appreciate your condescending attitude, and I can see the place hasn't changed much.
Therefore, I will take my leave.

Good day.

Lillith,

My reply wasn't intended to be condescending, but rather informative. It did not appear from your initial comments that you were aware of the purpose of The Spider Web.

Touchy thing for being so pompous........

Funny, for the decade or so I've been around here, I don't seem to have any recollection of our authority on all things.

Oh well......  I guess we'll have to muddle through on our own.
