Crazy Lady With Cats

WWW
« on: July 28, 2010, 05:26:22 PM »

Over the last two weeks I have lost three of my elderly cats.

Tigger was 22 years old.  He had been our official comes-to-circle cat who would sit in the southern gate during circle casts, and then wander around the circle making sure that everyone was properly grounded.

Simba was one of four 6-week old kittens someone dumped on the side of the road 15 years ago and which I brought home with me.  He was my special love and adored being held like a baby.

And Bubba was just a cat that loved everyone.  He was still purring madly as he went to his final sleep in my arms.  He reached the ripe old age of 17 before his body failed him.

The house seems very empty at the moment even though there are still five cats here.

Brock and I counted the cats we've had since we moved her 24 years ago.  In that time we have personally rescued and given forever homes to 27 cats that people saw fit to simply throw away.  And I've treasured every one of them.

I know that death is simply a part of the natural cycle, but right now I have three cat-shaped holes in my heart that hurt a lot.

Sorry to hear of these losses.

It's been a bad year for pets so far.

I think you must be out of town by now, but I hope you'll see this when you get back. *hug*
I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your kitties. Losing a pet hurts so much. I hope you are finding peace, healing and comfort.

Lark, I'm so sorry. I've been away from the board for awhile and I'm just getting caught up.

I hope your babies are doing wonderful cat things in Rainbow Bridge-land. In the meantime, (((hugs))) to you.

So very sorry, Lark.  We've had a passel of kitties, too and good-byes are never easy.  And with the ferrets, who have much shorter lives, rescues and all, it is so many pet funerals!

I hate those furry-shaped heart holes!

I'm so sorry for your loss Lark.
Cats are truly beautiful.

I did see a rather thin forlorn looking grey cat in my garden yesterday (must be the one getting in my bins) but no matter how I coaxed it, it wouldn't come close. No collar that I can see so I'm going to keep a look out for him / her as its obviously hungry.
