I'm very lucky in the fact that my eldest son and my Dad have worked hard all last week and turned our spare room at home into a private tattoo studio for me. It used to be the junk room so it took some sorting out but its done now.
I have everything I need. Work bench, storage, washable floor and newly painted walls, new electrics, water supplys etc.   The equipment I use is now fully disposable so  it all gets thrown away. Anything I need sterilised in an autoclave goes to the studio in London.

I only tattoo / pierce friends and family here. Everyone else must come to the studio where I work in London. Its difficult to be there alot because of the kids. I wont go back properly until they are at school full time and then, maybe I'll look for a different studio. My boss has sold up and the new owner is a pain in the butt and doesn't even tattoo.

Anyhow, I'm really pleased and very grateful.

Definately, though word has spread after I did 2 fantastic tattoos last week (yep, I'm blowing my own trumpet, I was so pleased) and I have rather a lot of people phoning up now but I cant complain. In fact its come at the best time as hubby wants to change his job so any extra cash, no matter how small is handy. Plus my eldest starts college in September and he needs a laptop, new clothes, etc etc.

That's great news!  About time you had some good luck coming your way.

I have sometimes thought about getting a tattoo, but as I get older and the skin sags in unhappy ways I'm less inclined to do it because I think that it would quickly look less than appealing.

Lark,

This is one of the many reasons I don't have a tattoo. Not only have I never found something that I am certain I want to mark myself with for the rest of my life, but I can't help but think "What is this gong to look like when I am in the nursing home?"

So the extent of my "ink" is henna designs. If I don't like the way it turns out, I only have to live with it for a few weeks!

Jennie, I love henna. I used to dye my hair with body-art quality henna and use the leftovers on my hands and feet.
That being said, though...I love permanent tattoos just as much. My last apartment was a couple of blocks away from a fantastic tattoo parlor, and so is my current place...no wonder I can never resist :p

Hi All,   Its been a busy few weeks and this stupid internet connection has been playing up again though maybe its me, I'm not great with anything technical.
The tattooings been busy too, I've kept this week clear as my eldest started college yesterday and just got the two toddlers into nursery. (I get 6 hours a week to myself!!!).
Plus theres been building work that had to be done on the house so you can imagine what disruption that all causes.

Ive noticed there a few strange advertisements on "Shout out" .....
But I'm going to have a nose round the forum for a while now.
Take care and Blessings

Kate--

Awesome for you!!  I wish we had had the time and the money to get together and have you tattoo us when we were in London this summer!  We ended up hanging out with my sister who goes to University in London and her new boyfriend.  It's a shame too, I've been craving ink for a while now.
