Good news and bad news. He's happy with what he saw, and the stitches are out. The bad news is that the bone was badly shattered and it is going to take about two years to fully heal. Once healed I may not have full use of it again.

Oh well, at least I'm still alive. Considering how close that bullet came to my femoral artery Jennie could have brought me home in a crematory box. Also, I still have my leg. So if anyone has a moment please send some good thoughts and energy for Dr. Scarbourough in Gainesville Fl, the man who saved my leg.

Glad to hear that things are going along about as well as could be hoped for.  Here's hoping that the bone heals more quickly than the doctor expects (Remember to increase your calcium and Vitamin D uptake!)  And we'll cross our fingers that the leg works as well as before.

Much good juju to all of you and to Dr. Scarborough as well.

I am glad it is healing...and yes, some things take a terrific bit of time.  My brother-in-law, some years back badly shattered his leg in a cycle accident; they actually were talking amputation for almost two years.

So, patience and let the body work...I am glad you missed that artery, too!

Great news, all things considered.

We'll keep you in our thoughts.

Heal well.
