Dear All,
I found an interesting article in one of my books about making a Medicine wheel for the home and people who live in it.
It involves lots of crystals and setting them out according to the compass points, Earth and Sky then completing the wheel with purple, green and blue crystals. Meditation, smudging and chanting (or using chimes, bells or a singing bowl) in ritual.
I found a place for it (away from the kids or Liam would be eating them) and I'm in the process of sorting out every piece of crystal I have dotted around the house and in my various jewelery boxes. I've also bought some new crystals to use at the compass points.
I'm using 4 flat pieces of stone that I brought back from Cornwall last year, to place candles on. I will use various colours for different purposes and for sending energy and I will also be placing items in the centre of the circle, either for celebration for various rituals or for cleansing.
The crystals can obviously be moved and placed in a larger circle on the floor for meditation purposes.
This will be the first permanant Altar type set up that I have made here at this house so I'm hoping for some happy changes.

I stocked up on essential oils too.  I use electric oil difusers as I'm always worried about candles burning near the children, but I have made up a wonderful "sleep" mixture for them when they are ratty, a few drops of each, Chamomile, Lavender and Geranium. I also use May Chang during the day to ward off biting insects in the warm weather and to invigorate. So essential oils will be playing a big part in this Medicine Wheel Altar too.

I hope you all have a great week.
Blessings

There is something really heartening about having a permanent altar of one's own.  I'll be interested to hear whether you notice a difference in the energies in your home once this one is set up.

Dear Lark,
There definately is a subtle change in the energies here and I can feel it is strengthening. I'm feeling a lot more positive about everything and I am starting new projects that have been kicking around as ideas for a long while.
Ryan is calmer and has a more positive attitude to his studies too.
I'm very aware, that where ever I am in the house, the position of the Altar. (Above me and to the right...etc)the Wheel has a very strong energy. I am also very aware of it when I am in the same room, especially as I'm falling asleep. Its a very comforting feeling.

I'll keep you up-dated.

Blessings
Kate.
