At last .... we go on holiday tomorrow. Time to re-charge my batteries in Cornwall. Thats if I don't blow a fuse with my 14 year old first.
I have srimped and saved the spending money for this time away but he managed to break his mobile phone and now he's wondering why I wont give him £150 of it to buy a new one before we go! Forget him packing, he hasn't even managed to sort his washing himself - I had to risk life and limb in his bedroom to find it spread around the floor. Plus I have 2 children under 2 years old so I was kinda hopeing that my son would manage a few simple tasks.
Oh well, I hope this time away is going to be good for all of us, maybe me and my son can get back on an even footing.
Have a good week everyone, speak to you all soon.

Fourteen is the age when both my sons were at their most aggravating.  With the eldest, sooner or later in discussion over his not picking up his part of activities, he would semi-snarl "I'm not a child, you can't order me around."  That would be when I'd have him---I'd say, "Oh, excuse me, I thought ONLY children blew off routine duties; grown ups don't have to be ordered around."  Good luck on vacation and perhaps the change will re-set that adolescent brain a bit.

In times of difficulty, look in the mirror.

It is likely you will see the cause as well as the solution.

It crossed my mind several times Red.

Though it seems the time we managed to spend together without him having more important things to do with his friends, has worked a little.

I do wish I'd bought that sword though, just to hang on the wall as a gentle reminder!
