Now I play the waiting game... and attempt to get the grades I told them I'd get of course.

I'm applying to do performing arts courses (and a European Theatre course) all over the country; so I just need to wait for the post saying when my auditions are.

It's been a lot of stress writing my personal statement and deciding etc, but now it's all done. You've got to sum up a) yourself, b) relevant experience c) why you'd be a good candidate, d) why they'd be good for you and e) the meaning of life, the universe and everything in 47 lines and 4000 characters; and without using the number 42 anywhere.

It's really really difficult.

But it's done, so I can temporaily stop thinking about it. WOOT!

Yay Sebbi!  Now we will all just have to cross our appendages and move some good energy in the direction of helping you get the spot that is the very thing for you.  Good luck and do let us know when you get that important letter back!

Congrats with the paperwork fight...

Hope it gets you the placement you want.

(Brings back memories of that time in my life... where there were two seporate systems - one for Polytechniques and one for Universitys! Twice the paperwork and stress! But that is not to say UCAS is any easier...)

All the best and keep us posted as to where you end up.

I'm just glad I'm not applying to proper drama school. You have to apply to each one individually. I may apply to circus school though - which really, REALLY isn't through UCAS.

Ok - since I was last here, I've had invites for 2 more auditions and actually been to one of those.

I'm very pleased because my UBER-FAVOURITE place (Dartington College of Arts, watch the videos at www.dartington.ac.uk to see how DAMN COOL they're work is) has given me an audition and I can know relax knowing that they've not been put off by my UCAS form!

I'm looking forward to that because it's during the half-term holiday and I got in contact with a friend of a friend who's there and told me I'm welcome to come and stay with her. She also said she'd try and co-ordinate her friends to be doing something fun that night and that I'll be going out with them and experiencing the "the student side" of life there, rather than just the academic/creative side I'd be getting at the audition itself.

Anyway - the audition I went to, I feel went very well. The thing itself was good, and then I went to the cafe on campus and was ended up accidentally having lunch with the people who auditioned me.

So I definitely made an impression - I don't know if it was a good one or not but hey-ho. That said, I got a good vibe and would be surprised if I don't get an offer!

Next audition is on Tuesday, so wish me luck (actually don't, tell me to break a leg).

Lots of Love

Audition number 2:

Again, it went really well. Similar to last one it was divided into a workshop and an interview. The workshop, I think, went well; but you don't get immediate individual feedback, so it's hard to tell. I feel I did my best to shine and throw myself into it though, so I'm fairly confident.

The interview went ridiculously well though - I kept on saying things and then realising how many brownie points I was getting and it finished on a VERY positive note and a strong hint that I'll get an offer; which is REALLY good!

The only thing now is decided whether Chichester (last week's audition) or St Mary's (yesterday's) will be my second choice. There are pro and cons to both - Chichester has a really big chunk of the whole institution dedicated to the performing arts and over half of it (I think)  dedicated to the arts. As well as this they have AWESOME facilities. On top of that I would quite like to escape from London.

However - I think I St. Mary's has an edge in something that I can't put my finger on, but that's really really important. So important in fact, it's pretty evenly balanced at the moment.

Just one more to go, and that's the big one!

That's wonderful.  I hope your third goes just as well.  It's nice to be able to have several choices so you can decide which is the best for you.  I'm excited for you and I hope that this all turns out to be the first step in a wonderful career.
