I have no idea what Columbus Day is. Tongue Is it a U.S thing?

Columbus landed on America the 12th of October of 1492.

It's not just a US thing, it's a celebration for all of the american continent.

Not.. really. Canada does not celebrate Columbus Day. I never have. Any mention of it being on a calendar usually has "(U.S.)" written next to it.

Actually, Columbus didn't kill anyone when he arrived.  It was the settlers who went in next who were responsible of the violence.

Despite the wars between indigenous peoples and settlers, the founding of our countries is still a good reason to acknowledge the importance of Columbus' voyage.
