How effective do you find crystal dowsing. I have successfully developed my skills at tarot (over painstaking periods of sheer dogged learning of each and every card, complimented by a curious blend of intuition, a splash of lunatic and an open mind.) Anyhow, I have been interested in giving dowsing a go, given it a go and found it to be a rather dissatisfying venture. There is no pattern to its pendulum swing; the 'yes' it alters to 'no' in the blink of an eye. Any useful advice from any serious 'dowsers.'

NB: I have posted her around a year ago under a different name - Heather - and have now been lured back in to the warmth of this online community. Hello to all I recognise, and introductions to those who have no idea who I am. Perhaps you all dont but never mind... oops

Using a pendulum well takes a great deal of practice and a steady hand. Some people never get the hang of it.

I don't know what form of 'dowsing' you are trying to practice, (dowsing for water, or 'dowsing ' for the right answers to questions, lost objects, energy flows and chakras,...), but starting out by using exercises with a partner that involve verifiable right or wrong answers is often helpful in developing the feel for the tool and the ability to relax and not force the pendulum to swing the way that you think it should go.

I always start out a pendulum session by asking the pendulum to show me "yes", then show me "no", and then show me "maybe". As in tarot, the particular phrasing of a query can be very important.

I hope this was helpful.

Bright blessings,

Thanks Jennie. It certainly was helpful. I'm simply dowsing for answers to questions, I have now got a rhythm I understand going.
