I visited our local charity shop last week and picked up a very very old book about "Farmhouse Fare" a collection of Old English recipes for anything from cooking a Sunday roast to face cream, soap and an "Ancient Cordial for sore throats" ...... very interesting.
So I got to thinking about putting together a book of ancient or old fashioned recipes, maybe some that our Grandmothers or Great Grandmothers have passed down over the years and rather than make this just English ones, how about an international effort.
I'm betting we all have a few recipes, wine making and brewering ideas tucked away in our heads. I found another for Buttercup salve for use in the Winter time.
Then I thought that the proceeds could benefit a worthy animal charity ...... plus I tend to need something, a project to keep my mind off the damn state of the social services in this country, where the kids are being fed processed cr*p and I'm trying to work day to day to educate the parents.
Anyway, I'll leave it with you, if anyone would like to contribute then PM me.
Best wishes
Kate. xxx
