A very close friend of mine got into an accident Saturday night.  Please help me in praying for her.  This is the article I have about what happened:

Brittany was involved in an accident Saturday June 2nd while returning from teaching a shooting sports class for the Boy Scouts at the Scout Ranch. She was traveling on highway 86 when she hit a Mini Cooper head on. The car behind the Mini swerved trying to avoid the accident and ended up hitting her broadside.

Saturday they completed 8 hours of open heart surgery to repair a 2 inch tear in the aorta. Sunday they found a blood clot behind her right knee. They took her back to surgery. It was a long 12 hours; during which they tried to restore circulation to her right leg and foot. After surgery she spiked a fever of about 103.5 and it has been a constant battle for the last few days.

Look at the part titled "Astral Simulacra"

I hope your friend gets well soon.

An update on Britt:

6/9/2007 5:45:25 PM (CST)

Britt is out of surgery, they have amputated her right leg at the knee. Please pray that this will relieve the fever that she has been running for the last 4 days and that we will be able to remove her from the respirator soon. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

6/9/2007 3:27:53 PM (CST)

Britt is being taken to surgery now, they will examine the muscle and determine the level of amputation to her right leg. I will update after the surgery.

6/9/2007 10:00:18 AM (CST)

Britt is doing well this morning. They began a heprin drip to break down and prevent further blood clots last night. It seems to be helping the blood flow in her leg. When we went in this morning they have her sedated less and she is reacting when we speak to her. Thank you for your support and continued prayers.

Britt was taken back to surgery last night because they lost the pulse in her leg. They preformed another angioplasties and discovered an occlusion. She went back to surgery to try and restore the blood flow. At this point it has not been successful. She Continues to run a fever and they are concerned for her kidneys.

6/8/2007 8:14:14 AM (CST)

The nurse called and said that the doctor needs permission to do an angiograph because they lost the pulse in her foot. So last night they did they angiograph and found that she had a 3 inch long blockage in her leg. It was in her upper thigh. The doctor reported to us at 5:30 this morning saying he got the entire blockage but couldn’t get the circulation flowing very well in her leg. After surgery she was pretty medicated but her fever has dropped down to 102.6.

6/7/2007 10:50:08 AM (CST)

Brittany’s fever is now at 103.8 which is an improvement from last night. Currently we are still working on her fever and trying to control her blood pressure. Until the fever goes down we will not be able to pull the ventilator out.

The doctor's still don't know the cause for the fever spikes, but everything else is going well.  Britt is off her resporator!!!!  We're all excited to see her awake and talking.  She still doesn't realize that she's lost her leg.  I'll keep updates coming as I can.
