I have plenty of books that deal with the magickal side of witchcraft, such as sabbat rituals, circle casting, and what it means to be a witch, however, I would really like a book which delves deeper into the spiritual side of witchcraft and provides me the opportunity to move closer to the Goddess.  I have felt so lost recently and desperately need to immerse myself deeper in my religion.  Any suggestions are welcome.

I suggest that you get your nose out of the books and go meditate in nature.

To connect with the Spirit, one must be still and quiet. One must learn to listen. If you are still enough your Higher Power will speak to you. You will become closer to Spirit and increase your spirituality.

There are a great many books out, too many to list, but from my experience, you cannot find connection to the Divine in the pages of a book. You can only build a strong connection by going within your own heart.

Magickware has an extensive book review blog. Maybe one of the books reviewed there will catch your fancy. http://magickware.wordpress.com/

Hi there,

Whilst no book can provide you with a spiritual experience or really even the keys to having one, I can highly recommend "Devoted To You" by Judy Harrow if you want to read about other pagan's spiritual experiences. There are some passionate and inspiring examples within the book that may provide you with some ideas in how to connect with deity yourself.

Several passages in the book had me in tears - which can be somewhat embarrassing on a commuter train. Other passages made me think about my connections in different and sometimes deeper ways.

Good luck & bright blessings

I highly second the recommendation for "Devoted To You".  It's a great book that talks about how one goes about developing a personal relationship with Deity and what it is like when you do.

Some other books that I might suggest:

"A Witch Alone" by Marian Green
"The Heart of Wicca" by Ellen Cannon Reed
"The Philosophy of Wicca" by Amber Laine Fisher
"A World Full of Gods" by John Michael Greer
"Pagan Theology" by Michael York

But as Gryphon says, we don't find our own connection to the Divine by reading books.  We find it by looking inside ourselves, by meditation, by dreamwork, by getting out into nature.  So don't just bury yourself in a book and think that is the answer.

Remember the words of the Charge of the Goddess..  And if you find it not within yourself you will never find it without.

Very good one.

My favorite book on this topic is "Witch Crafting" by Phyllis Curott.
