To an Elizabethan manor in the middle of nowhere nearish to Reading, locked in (well, not locked in, I just won't have anywhere to run) with a group of actors and musicians.
It's with a theatre group called Thrift; they did one 2 hour workshop at college with us on musical theatre (a style I actively dislike) and it was fantastic so I can't imagine what 5 days on just... generally being creative, will be like.
Anyway - I'm buzzing. Tomorrow I have to pack, the inventory is great, it's like "Yep, the usual, the usual, the usual, the usual, the usual, the usual, WHAT THE!" - i.e. stuff for going away for five days (pajamas, towel, toothbruth etc), the stuff that isn't "the usual" but is unsurprising (rehersal and performance clothes, notebook and pen etc) and then you have right at the end "a photocopy of your hand, 100 questions you want answering and objects you think might be interesting to intergrate into stroies (visit the charity shop)". I went to Woking and had a look around and found a vinyl of the Carmina Burana performed by the Czech Philamonic Chorus and Orchestra. It has a fantastic black and red cover and I thought "whoever owned this, had/has a story to them, they must do". I was so completely drawn to it, I couldn't not buy it, despite not actually having a vinyl player.
I'm also taking a f***load of musical gear including both my guitars, my synth, my amp, effects pedals, a tonne of leads, drumsticks etc. Tim Godwin (the guy running it) phoned and while he did I was noodling around on my guitar and he was like "Is that a guitar? What else do you play? How much can you bring? We don't have any neighbours so we'll be jamming until the early hours of the morning!"
Aparently at Thrift you just about have time to wash.
I reckon we might be going camping at some point as well. It asks us to bring a sleeping bag and outdoor clothes and knowing about Thrift it wouldn't be unsurprising.
It should be amazing. I'm just... literally buzzing.
What's scary is that as soon as I get back, it's straight back into Macbeth rehersals.
Incase you don't know about it, my theatre group will be putting on a performance of Macbeth for 2 nights at the Harlequin in Redhill (5th and 6th of March). I think tickets are £7 and it would be very much appriciated if you could come.
I should probably get some sleep my pretties, I'll let you know how everything goes.
Lots of Love Sebbi
