I know this is a bit off subject but its a warning to any woman out there taking of gets perscribed the mini-pill for contraception.
I was given it by my Doc two weeks ago and after 3 days of taking it I felt awful though at the time I didn't know why. My moods were terrible, my thoughts very irrational and dark, I lost interest in everyone and everything. Then a few days ago I was standing at the sink washing up and the packet caught my eye, I thought "I wonder if ...." then I read the leaflet that comes with them. And yes, all my symptoms were side effects of this stuff. (Cerazette)

I have never suffered with PMT  till now, never had the baby blues nor depression ........  but on this mini-pill I had the worst feelings I've ever had in my entire life.

So if you are prescribed it - Be warned.

Mine are now in the bin, its slowly coming out of my system and I feel a million times better already.
Obviously, it may be fine for some people but the girls I know that I have spoken to have all had real problems with it.

Almost all drugs, weather legal, illegal, perscribed or self medicated, 'natural' or 'chemical' have side effects.

They don't nessecerily affect all who take them, the symptoms may be minor or livable with or acceptable in the face of the alternitives, they may reduce (or increase) with time, or they may change when combined with other drugs, foods, enviroments, even hormonal changes.

Thus it is always worth consulting a knowledgable person, be that the pharmasist, doctor, or the leaflet provided with all drugs (otc or POM) and be aware of the risks, controindications and side effects.

I am sorry you have had so much bother with this controceptive... but given that all pill like birth controls mess with homones it is not at all uncoman for there to be unwanted effects.
A different one you may be fine on, or you may be unlucky (like me) and find none agree with your body. Talk candidly to your Doc, family planner nurse and see what your options are... also report that you have had these problems - it is from information like this that scientists, doctors etc improve drugs and even withdraw those which are too problimatic.

Be bright, be bold

Don't worry .....  I've been down to visit my doc and told him exactly what I thought of the damned things.

I can't have the combined pill because I'm 35 and apparently that's too old to have it. So I'm having a coil fitted next week.

I'm just amazed that these things are still being prescribed, I'm going to email Glaxo Smith-Kline (the company that makes them and advise that they at least do a survey.)

Take care of you and yours.
