Unfortunately another sickening story that was on the news here in Britain last night.    A couple, aged 23 and both Heroin addicts gave their 22 month old baby methadone to get him to sleep each night because they wanted peace and quiet. He eventually died of a methadone overdose, and at the examination they also found cocaine and heroin traces in his tiny body.

Oh... T_T How could anyone think that's okay to do?  People scare me sometimes.

That is a tragic story.

Just one more example how the dangerous drugs such as heroin make people do crazy things that they would never have dreamed of doing in their right minds.  Poor little one, may it find peace.

That's sickening.

Does anybody else think of the baby in Trainspotting?

Yuck....

Yes Sebbi I'm thinking about the baby in trainspotting... but didn't that baby die of starvation? not overdose.

That's awful.  Once again, my faith in humanity is weakened.  May the child find peace (and better parents) in his next life.

OMG I can't believe this, well actually I can and that makes it even more sad. Poor baby may his spirit find peace. I really don't know why some people have children.

In the book and, I think the film, it was a cot death. It was still growing up in a herion den though.

It just kind of makes me wonder...where were the authorities?  It's not that the authorities are supposed to be miracle workers, but presumably the couple were prescribed the methadone, and therefore were registered users.

Poor little thing, didn't even get a bite of the apple.

But also poor parents, they must have been in a really screwed up place to be giving a baby hard drugs...and must be in a living-torment now.  Not that it's not a terrible and abhorent thing that they've done...but no-one's come out of this well.
