am so glad that you posted this. It really made me feel better about myself and about the craft as a whole. One of the reasons why I left Christianity in the first place was because in my opinion it was a religion that made me feel that I would never bee good enough for it. Wicca was welcoming to all types of people, and that is one of the reasons why I love it so much.
Truly. One of the things that Wicca teaches IMHO is that we are all capable of growth and change, and that if we chose to do the work, this path can make us into better people. For someone or some group to set limits on a person's ability to grow and change seems to me to go against everything that Wicca encourages us to do.
There is a book that I read once that really helped me come to terms with what I thought were my own shortcomings. The book is written from a somewhat Christian viewpoint, and it has to do with alcoholics and the 12-step program. But it has some important lessons to teach us all. The book is called "The Spirituality of Imperfection". I suggest it to you as something you miight read.
What the book is saying to us is that the belief that we have to be perfect or we are never good enough is a crippling belief. As human beings we will never be perfect, we just can't be. The best we can do is try our hardest to be as good as we can be. Oftentimes we will fail, and that's OK. Learning to foregive yourself for not being perfect and understanding that that doesn't mean you are bad or wrong or less of a vital human being has been one of the most freeing lessons I have ever learned.
