It is gorgeous, isn't it?  I especially enjoy the nighttime pictures.

wow, that is really amazing. My kids were facinated with the night pictures. And my 4 year old says it's too small for everyone to live on.  Laugh Out Loud  I have to explain that pictures make things look smaller.

They're amazing. One thing I noticed though, they made the Red sea the wrong colour ;-).

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is how thin that little translucient line around the planet is.  That is our atmosphere.  It is a very thin little envelope that sustains life, without which we can not exist, yet many of us take it for granted and as a species we do so much to destroy it.

What we do to the land and water is bad enough, but there just ain't that much air out there.

That is a wonderful and awe inspiring set of pictures of our special world.

On one hand the night pictures are beautiful, but on the other I am painfully aware of all those lights... light pollution that cuts us off from the beauty of the stars and moon... and the vast amounts of power that such lighting consumes... signs that even in creating wonderous images we are killing our only home.

Be bright, be bold
