Quote from: "TheBriarRose"
Watch some of the "psychics" on cable TV.  Make notes.  Take notice of their techniques.  Most of them provide a starting place, which the Querant confirms....

I see someone with the name starting with F?  F?Huh?

*looks around until someone raises a hand*

I see a father figure coming through...someone with the name starting with F?

You see where I'm going with this.

That's why I'm sceptical of people like John Edward. I always watch out for more specific information that would be very unlikely to come through. You can find the same kind of success if you give common names like 'John'. It's more than likely that someone will know a John.

I tried to demonstrate the idea of cold reading to my mother, by picking random letters and seeing if she knew of anyone in the family with a name beginning with that letter. Except for uncommon letters like X and Z, she managed to think of one for all of the letters I mentioned.

I believe that most phone/internet psychics are probably frauds but I'll assume that's not what you're asking.

I think it is possible - at the end of the you need to experience a connection with someone to do a reading for them. How that connection is achieved is another matter entirely. I think that if it was impossible to achieve a meaningful connection with someone through means other than in person most of us would have destroyed our phone lines.

In mysticism it's often taught that time and space are generally fallable entities and it's possible and, I don't think, that hard to, to an extent, transcend them (I reckon astral projection is actually something like second nature, we're just generally always aware of it [nor is it neccesary or useful for us to be most of the time]).

Anyways - I hope you get the jist of this little ramble.

Much Love

I listened to that Supernatural Saturday Night (Friday Edition) on Friday (it's on our local talk station - see related thread), and they had an "intuitive" on - she didn't call herself a psychic outright.  She took some readings over the phone, but did admit that her abilities were limited over the phone compared to face-to-face.  I wasn't terribly impressed.  The Wiccan cop that they had was great though Smiley

HI you can pm or e-mail me about readings, I usually only do internet readings for people I know (due to the whole connection deal) but I will see what we can do. I have read for people I don't know before. who knows maybe we can make a connection so it can work. let me know

the magickal link and the "psychic's" knowledge or skill in divinatory magick are the values to be taken in account.
