I'm going back to school!

Just thought y'all might like to know that I've been accepted in the Pastoral Counseling Program at Cherry Hill Seminary.   I'll be starting classes in September.  My first two courses will be on the "Psychology of Religion" and on working with the dying.  I am so excited!  Nothing like going back to school to get this old grey head thinking again.

It is sort of an on-line course, but not like many you see on the net.  It is taught at the Master's level which involves primarily independent study.  But once a week they hold an electronic classroom in chat format between the teacher and the students.  And then they also have a two-week intensive at their actual school site in Vermont.

I've been thinking something similar.

I dropped out in May and I'm going back in September. Incidentally about a week or so ago my sister was all excited saying "Yay, the holidays have started"

My first thoughts were "Yer what?! I thought they were just finishing!"

I'm doing the same in September, studying social work and counselling.    Hopefully it will get my old brain cells working again too.     I'm hoping I can make a difference to peoples lives, especially abused and neglected children. (Just got to remember that I shouldn't tie the abusers to my car bumper and drag them to the police station...... but it might get too tempting.)
