OT - ...and we emerged from the studio... VICTORIOUS!

Again another update on the band; I swear one day I'll stop doing these but I'm partuarly excited.
 
Since Febuary we've been in the studio with a producer making a mini-album (8 tracks of Impressionables goodness) and finally it's done.
 
We finished it today, bought the rights (our producer was working technically for free, therefore, legally speaking owning the copyright and the mechanical rights (what you need to own to be able to replicate the recording) to the whole project. The deal is, he does it for free and we buy the rights off him, therefore effectively paying him AND aquiring the rights all in one go. Clever eh?
 
Mixing was weird; we had the entire band (plus bassist's girlfriend) in the production booth today and we all sat in front of the screen listening and say "hmmmm, not sure about this" while Olli (producer) fixed things.
 
Once that was done we just listened to the whole thing start to finish and instead of picking out little details we didn't like, we just agreed instantly this was a good album and that there's very little that can be done to improve on it.
 
Then we went for a meal, the toast went like this:
 
Olli ("the Chinese tea Drinker) Daffern: Ow, hot hot hot hot
Tom Rushton: Errrrr... something intelligent!

You know what Gryphon, that's actually a very good idea. I hadn't thought of that.

Rowena - as for releasing it, we've set up a mini-record label. We're starting small, not attempting to put it in shops and stuff, just selling it ourselves. Kaylin and Ara are in on it as well, covering the US between them, so hopefully we're going to do postal orders. Not sure how payment is going to work for that but we'll figure it out.

Yeah, selling them at gigs and forcing them upon friends and family is the main thing for now.

We're doing 100 to start with and if that sells we do more.

If you're asking because you're interesting in a copy( :wink: ) PM me.

The official release date is 9.9.2006, so we have to get everything in place for then.

I'm very excited.

yeah, uh-huh.  You see what happens?  I get them on American radio, and all of a sudden I'm selling records.  This stuff is addicting, I tell ya.
