I got a bit sick this week, I was wondering if any of you have any Herbal recommendations for a throat inflammation?  I've been told to take antibiotics but I'm not very fond of them.

Try salt water gargle.  You don't need so much salt that it makes you gag.  About a quarter to a half a teaspoon to a cup of water is plenty.  Do that three times a day.

Also, if you know a good acupuncturist go and have him/her bleed or burn the lung points on your thumbs.  Don't worry it's not as bad as it sounds.  They only bleed a drop of blood from each thumb.  Personally I like the burning method.  They use a piece of moxa about a quarter the size of a grain of rice and let it burn right down to the skin.  It leaves a tiny little blister, but I prefer that to being bled.  With either method the pain of the sore throat stops instantly.  You still need to do the salt watr gragles though.

If you have plaques you will probably have to take antibiotics...  Sad

but you can even do some gargle with sage tea and lemon ^__^

I advise you to put some propolis drop on your tonsils!

Yep....... VINEGAR.       Literally swallow 1 or 2 tablespoons of the stuff and it kills the bacteria that are causing the soreness.
I suffered from tonsillitus for years (eventually they took them out when I was 31, not plesant) but the vinegar worked alot of the time.   You'll find your throat will tingle and sting for a minute or so after but then the pain goes.  And more than anything else, always keep your mouth nice and clean.
