i am a new to wicca as you all know, and I have been trying to progress in my studies, but i cannot find any good links, or e-books(cant get real books due to current location) and i have had no luck.  I really want to know about wicca, more then just the spells, yeah that is really nice too, but i know there is more to it then spells. Like the meaning behind the five elements, and why the north south east west, is so important... the common knowledge stuff, b/c all i can find on the internet is spells... does anyone have any good links to e-books, or wicca sites???

Sadly some things are not exactly found as e-books. You might actually have to make a trip to the library or, if your lucky, the local Half-Price books.
Books by Gerald Gardener are excellent places to start. Amber K is another reasonable author.
Many would tell you to stay away from authors like Silver Ravenwolf, but AFTER Gardener and come to think of it Buckland (meaning after you've read just about everything you can get your hands on  by them first, she can give a somewhat clear to understand explanation of the concept. Just do not use her as your first set of references.

Amazon.com doesn't ship to Georgia?

They shipped to Fort White, FL, no problem back when we lived there, and you pretty much have to drive right through Georgia to get there.

I'm flabbergasted.

Bright blessings,

right now im not in Georgia, im actually in Korea.  We have a little book store here, but as far as wicca books are concerned, i actually bought a few, and they seem a bit childish to me as far as the way she words things. C.C. Brondwin is the author. She has another book I like tho, it is an almanac.  That is pretty good at keeping track of special days.

http://wicca.timerift.net is a good place to start.  It'll tell you about some of the basics as well as what you do not want to do, ie, how to not be a fluffbunnie.  Be sure to read the article Why We Despise Silver Ravenwolf.

Hi there,

I thought I would help you with some recommendations on books and websites that you may find helpful in learning more about your path. I would begin by reading through the posts on this board..you may find they answer some of your questions.

My two favorite books for new people are "A Witch Alone" by Marian Green, and "21st Century Wicca" by Jennifer Hunter. The first will help you understand traditional Witchcraft better, and the second is a wonderful overview of Wicca. I also highly recommend "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler, "Voices from the Circle" by Prudence Jones and Caitlin Matthews, "The Elements of Ritual" by Deborah Lipp and "Practical Pagan" by Dana Eilers.

Some websites that are full of useful and accurate information include the ones below:

The Witches' Voice: http://www.witchvox.com

The Witches's Sabbats: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/7280/index.html

Wicca for the Rest of Us: http://wicca.timerift.net/

Enyo's Workshop:
http://www.wargoddess.net

Annwn's Cauldron: http://www.annwnscauldron.com/ (this site has a wonderful on-line course) You can find the first lessons on the message board at http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/nav/start.asp?webtag=annwn1

And to find groups an individuals in your area try http://www.witchvox.net

As you read and study, I'm sure you will find yourself full of lots of questions. And that's where this board comes in handy. There are lots of folks here with years of experience in many different paths who will be more than happy to help you with those questions as you find the path that will be uniquely yours. So welcome again, and we look forward to seeing lots more of you

You've got a computer, try a web search.  Just be aware that there are plenty of sites that are nothing but fluff.

The Pagan Library (www.paganlibrary.com) has a lot of good articles, some e-text.  Spend some time there.

Lark is too modest to recommend her coven's website.  www.tangledmoon.org is full of information that, having read Lark's posts over the years here, I trust and enjoy.

The biggest thing to remember is that if you read something and it just sounds off to you, it probably is incorrect information, so take things with a grain of salt the size of Lot's wife.

Happy searching!

Also you can look on e-bay they usually ship damn near anywhere and you can get the books a lot cheeper than at the store sometimes, just because some of them may be used doesn't mean the information isn't valuable.

YEAH KOREA!!! I have been there at the base in seoul. Try the Coax Mall ( I can't remember how to spell the name sorry but if your at Yangsan go over the han river and you will see it I believe 2nd left is the front and 3rd is the back and check but i think the subway has a stop under the mall) there a is two-story  book store there that has a very big English section. If you and go to the underground market you could fine LOTS of stuff: herds, Mortar & Pestle... there is a lot to see. But try the really big malls try will have big book stores and most carry books in english. If your Military ask the BOSS people they can tell you how to get to all the big malls and where most markets are at. AHHHHH Korea how I wish I was there again.....
