Ok, just making sure.  Didn't want to open my big mouth if you weren't speaking to me.

I wasn't trying to offend anyone, first off.  What I meant was that I've read in books on mythology that Dionysus was often said to wear women's clothing, have a somewhat effeminate nature, and have sexual relationships with Adonis and Hermaphrodite.

As for Athena, I just meant that from the way she was depicted in statues and some of her nature (a warrior, etc.), she seemed more masculine than some of the other goddesses.  So, I was thinking that maybe in Greek mythology, homosexuality and bisexuality were explained, mythologically, by gods being born from male gods, or only having one parent.

It's hard for me to put into words, so I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Ah right - I get what you're saying now. That would be an interesting one to look into. I'm trying to think of any more characters from Greek Mythology or mythology generally that have similar natal history. I'm sure there are more, much more in fact, just none spring to mind.

I'll look into it and tell you what I find!

Wouldn't Aphrodite technically be one?  If I remember correctly, she was born from the sea when Uranus' testicles were cut off and fell into the ocean.  Unless of course you think of the sea as Gaia's womb in which case she'd be the daughter of Gaia and Uranus.

Ok, so it's been a couple of years since I learned this, but I thought that I'd share.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there are gods and goddesses that are effeminate/etc in that culture (I'm thinking Greek). If I remember correctly, the highest form of love to them was considered to be between two men.
