Ok I am semi-new at being a witch if that is should call myself sometime I think I shouldn't be able to call myself that until I have been at it for a couple of years...but I digress. I have been seeing people talk about Silver Ravenwolf in a bad way so I decided to look into her. I bought some of her books and and looked at some of her websites and that all came out to be a huge waist of time so you all are justified in what yall where talking about, but as I was looking for Ravenwolfs books I found a few books by the author Judika Illes, and I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about her so if anyone knows please right back.

If I was you, I'd check out Larks reading list.  Use this as a guide until you have learn't some more then you'll be able to make your own choices.   I've not seen any books by Judika Illes and so I can't comment, but I find that Scott Cunningham is pretty good.
Good luck and enjoy learning.

Hi there,

I thought I would help you with some recommendations on books and websites that you may find helpful in learning more about your path. I would begin by reading through the posts on this board..you may find they answer some of your questions.

My two favorite books for new people are "A Witch Alone" by Marian Green, and "21st Century Wicca" by Jennifer Hunter. The first will help you understand traditional Witchcraft better, and the second is a wonderful overview of Wicca. I also highly recommend "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler, "Voices from the Circle" by Prudence Jones and Caitlin Matthews, "The Elements of Ritual" by Deborah Lipp and "Practical Pagan" by Dana Eilers.

Some websites that are full of useful and accurate information include the ones below:

The Witches' Voice: http://www.witchvox.com

The Witches's Sabbats: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/7280/index.html

Wicca for the Rest of Us: http://wicca.timerift.net/

Enyo's Workshop:
http://www.wargoddess.net

Annwn's Cauldron: http://www.annwnscauldron.com/ (this site has a wonderful on-line course) You can find the first lessons on the message board at http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/nav/start.asp?webtag=annwn1

And to find groups an individuals in your area try http://www.witchvox.net

As you read and study, I'm sure you will find yourself full of lots of questions. And that's where this board comes in handy. There are lots of folks here with years of experience in many different paths who will be more than happy to help you with those questions as you find the path that will be uniquely yours. So welcome again, and we look forward to seeing lots more of you
