Used to be.  I spent 20 years as a US Army nurse, including 2 tours in Vietnam.  I retired in 1986 and got called back to active duty during Desert Storm.  Retired again in 1992.

Brock, my hubby, spent 10 years active with the 82nd and 101st Abn.  He also spent 14 years in the Reserves.  He's now a DA Civilian, currently in Iraq packing up the 101st to come home.

There are a number of other veterans on the board as well.

I've been in the Indiana National Guard for almost 4 years now (wow, didnt' realize it had been that long!).  I spent December '04 to Nov '05 in Iraq with my company, 1438th Trans.

It was a very long year with a lot of high school drama, but I can definately say that I've got some good friends for life.

Hey if you're with the 101st give us a holler when you get back.  We'll have coffee of something.

I'm one of the 'used to be' - was in during Vietnam but did my hitch and became a Navy Wife (yeah, it's a job). He's retired now so we spend our days hosting friends who are aboard ship - three-tiered bunk beds are not really what you want to see when you're in port.

Not in uniform anymore...and last year, finally gave my last set of dress greens away to a little drama group for costuming.  Husband is a Viet Nam veteran, one son a veteran of the recent Gulf conflicts (but stateside for both) and the other son is in Afghanistan...so we know the drill.

We live not too far out the East Gate of Ft. Lewis, Washington.
