Hi!!!!  Very Happy **waves frantically**  So... yeah, I'm not an expert on the whole message board thing, but I figured it's a way to talk to like-minded people.

I've been 'studying', to use the term loosely, Wiccan and magick in general for a while now.  Though, I'm a bit of a procrastinator so I'm just now getting around to my B.O.S. **chuckles sheepishly** oops   Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on degrees and advancement in one's magickal study.  More specifically, if one is a solitary Practitioner, how do you know what degree you are on if you have been studying for an extended period of time?  In all honesty, I've been studying and practicing off and on for ten years now (in hiding while living in shelters) and now live with a Christian Wiccan roommate.  I myself am an Ecclectic Pagan...ish.  I don't really know what I am.  **grins embarassedly, shrugs**  Oh well, I guess that's all for now since my roommate needs his computer back.

Blessed Be!!!

 Happy Cat  KITTY!!!

Hi Kitty,

Welcome to Branwen's.  Hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

We had a discussion about degrees awhile ago here on this board.  You can find the information at http://branwenscauldron.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=254  That discussion may help answer your question.

Generally the idea of "Degrees" is limited to those Wiccans who are working in a coven setting.  Most other forms of Paganism don't use a degree system at all.  But do check out the discussion for a more complete discussion of the topic.

Blessings,
