Hello all, my name is Zoe, that isn't the name that I was given at birth, but it is the one that called to me when I began along the Pagan path just a month ago. I came about discovering it through numerology and found that it shared my lifepath number.

I am 25 y/o. a Leo, born Aug 11 in Windsor, ON Canada.

I am hoping to find a bit of a haven here. I feel quite isolated in my hometown, being new to the path and all.

I am training to be a solitary eclectic wicca. I say training because altho I have always followed a natural path, I have yet to carry out ritual or prepare and perform magick. I'm a Wicca in a cocoon persay.

Gaia, mother of the earth, creator of all that is wonderful is my patron goddess.

I am still very much learning and there is so much to learn! I'm very excited to have found this messageboard.

I've come out to my close friends and family and they are accepting, but not encouraging. I'm pretty pleased with this. I don't feel the need to be spiritually validated by others, but its wonderful to be able to share experiences and conversation with others with a similar path.

I have been busy learning all I can as well as gathering the tools that will assist me in expressing and communicating my spiritual self.

I will be consecrating my altar and tools under the new moon on March 29. I am very excited about this. It will be my first ritual and I am busily preparing! I'm also preparing to celebrate Ostara.

Outside of my Pagan rebirth I am a 2nd year university student who loves classic movies (Gone with the Wind, Casablanca are my faves), Friends(the TV show) and hockey (Go CANADA!)

I am really looking forward to gettin to know everyone here, but for now I think that's plenty of rambling from me.

Blessed be.

Hi there,

I thought I would help you with some recommendations on books and websites that you may find helpful in learning more about your path. I would begin by reading through the posts on this board..you may find they answer some of your questions. Then check out the rest of Branwen?s site, particularly the Library, for other sound information.

My two favorite books for new people are "A Witch Alone" by Marian Green, and "21st Century Wicca" by Jennifer Hunter. The first will help you understand traditional Witchcraft better, and the second is a wonderful overview of Wicca. I also highly recommend "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler, "Voices from the Circle" by Prudence Jones and Caitlin Matthews, "The Elements of Ritual" by Deborah Lipp and "Practical Pagan" by Dana Eilers.

Some websites that are full of useful and accurate information include the ones below:

The Witches' Voice: http://www.witchvox.com

The Witches's Sabbats: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/7280/index.html

Wicca for the Rest of Us: http://wicca.timerift.net/

Enyo's Workshop:
http://www.wargoddess.net

Annwn's Cauldron: http://www.annwnscauldron.com/ (this site has a wonderful on-line course) You can find the first lessons on the message board at http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/nav/start.asp?webtag=annwn1

As you read and study, I'm sure you will find yourself full of lots of questions. And that's where this board comes in handy. There are lots of folks here with years of experience in many different paths who will be more than happy to help you with those questions as you find the path that will be uniquely yours. So welcome again, and we look forward to seeing lots more of you
