Hi Everyone,

I'm an empath who's looking to develop a bit more clarity and strength at my art. I've mostly only used gemstones when working with magick, so I'm looking for a common combination and procedure that will help me with this.

Has anyone had any success with this? If so, what gemstone combination did you use and in which method?

Greetings!

I can't say that I've ever worked with stones in conjunction with my empathy (usually too busy shielding it to try to amplify :? ), but have you checked out some books on the subject?  I seem to remember that Cunningham's book on Gem and Mineral magic was useful in other operations.

Good luck!

Hi Phoenix,

I work with gemstones frequently, though I don't have any specific combination that always works to strengthen empathy.

I try to find stones that have properties that correspond to what I'm doing.  For example, if you want to be more empathetic to a friend, find stones that have properties that match their personality - nurturing, calming, protective, etc.  Or if a certain stone just reminds you of a person, use that.

One of my favorite stones is Selenite, because for me it helps me meditate and focus more clearly...if you have a favorite stone, you can easily use that.

Anyway, hope some of this helps.

As someone who is very sensitive to the emotions of others, and who works extensively with gemstones in my healing practice, I will say first that if emotions were clearer things, you might have more luck developing clarity regarding your empathy. Most people are not experiencing a single emotion at any given time. Emotions are not thoughts, and they do not have the clarity and simplicity of thoughts.

Probably the best way of honing your skill as an empath is to consistently seek feedback regarding your perceptions. This is not difficult - simply include your perceptions in your conversations with people as they come up. " If someone sems angry or upset to you, for example, even if they are not expressing it, you might say something like "You seem angry. Is there anything wrong? " They will usually either confirm your impressions or correct them. "No, I'm not angry. I'm just worried about the presentation I have to make after lunch."  They will often be grateful that you expressed any concern for their emotional state." Thanks for asking." Regularly practicing getting feedback can help you become clearer about your perceptions.

I would avoid making a big deal about this being empathy rather than simple observation of body language and mood. Few people want to hear that you are eavesdropping on their emotional lives, even if they like the results. They want to know that you are paying attention to them, but not that they are broadcasting, LOL!

All that said, some stones that can increase receptivity to emotion include moonstone, selenite, charoite, opal, and amethyst.

Some stones that can help shield from overwhelming or confusing outside emotions are hematite, black and green tourmaline, tigereye, fluorite, green kyanite, chiastolite, and obsidian.

Choose stones that resonate with your own energy, that you feel comfortable working with. Combining stones from each group above (i.e., one or more from the increase group and one or more from the shielding group) can often help with "clarity" by helping to keep you from being overwhelmed by what you are receiving while simultaneously allowing you to take in more.

I hope that this is helpful.

Bright blessings,
Jennie
