I posted the following under The Cauldron, but then thought perhaps it was better suited to Crones and Sages:

The late Sybil Leek (and other Craft elders, including Cora Anderson) advocated daily meditation. I am curious what, if any, daily practice some of you who have been practicing a while do on a regular basis?  Do you have a daily practice, or is it something you only do once a month (full moon) or when casting spells? How do you incorporate your Witchcraft beliefs into your day-to-day activities?

Also, what was the first book you read that sparked your interest in Witchcraft? Can you name one favorite book?

That should spark some discussage.

I can't profess to doing anything that can be considered a daily ritual.  I tend to go more with the PRN approach to rituals.

Now, I do make a point of trying to get my breathing exercises in at least once a day, and I also strive just to say a little "thank you" at the end of each day.

I wasn't interested only in rituals anyway; that's why I asked what, if any, daily *practices* others do on a regular basis. What is PRN, BTW?

At the moment, the only thing I am striving to do every day is eat the right amount of meals.  I have been through phases of trying to do something every day - yoga, writing down dreams, meditation - but the days aren't long enough for me to do all of them, and I never knew which ones to keep up.

I incorporate witchcraft into my everyday life at every opportunity.  When I make a meal I season it with love and wishes for good health, when I take a walk outside I look out for omens or signs of the seasons, and I keep my house decorated with seasonal items.

When I first became interested in Witchcraft, the only book available to me was Elisabeth Brooke's "A Woman's Book Of Shadows".  I now find her a little too single-mindedly feminist for my liking, but the book had a mine of information and ideas which did well to get me started.

PRN comes to us from the medical field.  It means Per Required Need, or as needed.

One thing that I do on a daily basis is to take time to do a short prayer and offering to my Deities.  This is my time to thank Them for the blessings in my life, and to ask their help for those in need.  Then I make offerings of incense and water (they are Egyptian Gods).

I also use my practices daily in sending healing to those in need on my prayer candle.

And I add a bit of magic in the everyday chores...strength/health into the food I'm cooking, protection into the clothes I'm folding.  And when I clean the house, I do it psychically as well as physically.

And sometimes I just like to walk in my woods and feel the Earth all around me.

Also, I think that magick is part of our daily lives anyway, even down to the most mundane chores. I really don't see much dfference when we hang our cloak/robe to be worn for the next Sabbat/Esbat. When one is a witch, we practice our faith throughout our lives, even if we are saying a small prayer, as we are doing our daily laundry. Just by thinking of the the changes we make through our movements and actions, causes a reaction to that cause. Thus the term, cause and effect. Whatever action we take in our lives will ultimatly cause a reacation, like a ripple efffect.

I try to take a few moments in the morning and light candles for the god and goddess and burn some incense as an offering, and then just meditate, even if it's only for a short time.  Just to acknowledge them and thank them.

Unfortunately, I don't do this every day.  I try, but things get crazy sometimes....

The first book I read was Cunningham's Wicca; a Guide for the Solitary Practitioner.  I think it's an OK starter book.  I like some of the things he says, but I have to admit, I think he has a slightly fluffyish delivery.  I don't mean that as an insult.  The info is good, it's just they way he worded things wasn't exactly the best for me.... I'm a very practical and analytical person... but if someone asked me if I'd recommend it, I'd probably recommend Progressive Witchcraft by Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone first, and maybe Wicca, Guide for the Solitary Practitioner second.

I don't really have a favorite book right now.  Some of the best information I've found has been online, either on a good website, or through forums like these.

I always light a candle at the end of each day and focus on its energy for a few moments, plus candles change the atmosphere in the evening. I wear my crystals most days and always have them by the bed.    I try to meditate but sometimes the house is full of my son and his friends so its difficult to get the peace and quiet.
Once a week I do a cleansing ritual on the house and I also decorate it with seasonal items, such as flowers and foliage.

I agree with what Owl said, magic and (if I may add) the Gods are always around us wether you are in formal robes, laundry day grubs or nothing at all.  They are in every little thing I do, whether cleaning the house or communing with my cat, (which is my current preferred method of "meditation").

However going for walks and sitting out in the yard with a great glass of red wine are also great get-in-touch with the spirits and make myself feel witchy past-times.

I typically knit everyday, which can be VERY mind altering if you concentrate.  And lastly there really is nothing quite like cooking and baking to bring out the inner God/dess in anyone.

Blessings

I always say a thank you to the gods when I lie down to sleep everynight.  Usually it's just a short "thank you for everything," but if I feel motivated enough I go into detail.

I'm a messy person, I'll admit, but once a month I try to throughly clean house, physically and magically.  First I clean up generally; dusting, vacuuming, etc.  Then I use incense, salt, and washes to purify the house of negativity.

If it were possible, I'd also do a little  Flying Witch  everynight. hehe
