I know what you mean.  And the crux of the matter is that when I sat down to write it it was as if it were being spoken in my ear...not like I was having to search for the words.  It is often like that when I write sacred chant or poetry, and I can always tell when what I write is a gift from them.

If Epona is the Goddess you feel close to, why don't you try writing a prayer to her?  It's a good way to develop the relationship between the two of you.

I've been doing a lot of moon writing recently so I thought I would offer some of them up on this thread.

Moon dedication / prayer

From the depths of the sacred well I see your face
Bright against the star filled sky
I hear your song in my heart
and dance with you across darkened fields

Bathed am I in your shining pool
Veiled am I in your silver hair
Robed am I in your cool embrace

You are the ebb and flow within me
My spirit is yours to command
Always full. Never waning.

Drawn am I by the call of the tides
For I am your child
And I wear your crescent upon my brow.

Drawing Down The Moon

We do call and invoke thee
O Lady of the Silver'd Moon
Thou art mistress of the darkest night,
Enchantments' Queen!

Thou art the jewel in the velvet cloak,
The quickening of blood and tide
Lady, we adore thee!

Thou art the song of ecstasy
spiralling amongst the stars,
Keeper of the shining paths of magic and truth.

Mother Moon, we call to thee
We invoke thee from silver'd hill and shadowed vale
Descend we pray into thy Priestess here
O Lady of the Wondrous Moon!

Full Moon Scrying Charm / Power Raising

Feel the pull of the tides within
as silver light bathes thy skin.
Connect thyself above and below
to quarters four the power flows.

By Earth, by Fire, by Wind and Rain
By current fast and darkness' bane
Lady Full and Lady Bright
We join with thee in the silvered night.

From the four points that surround
the Earth below unto the crown,
we speak the charm and chant the spell
to drink the draught of the sacred well.

Mother Moon, Queen of Might,
Thy power builds throughout the night.
Send thy rays of shining light
to bring thy gift of second sight.

Bright blessings

Epona,Epona, beloved She be.

Her beauty like silver, she walks in the night,

Lady Epona, Loved with all of thys heart,

Epona Epona, mounted atop a white mare,

Her love is unlimited,

 Lady Epona, thy love thee.

Often it is just a case of taking the time to let the Muses speak and then the words form the heart come flowing freely...

And accepting that for some of us the Muses speak in words, but it is equelly valid when they speak in picture, music, or even the gifts of green fingers, a nourishing shared meal or an opotunity to care for some living thing, (human, animal, plant or planet).

Be bright, be bold
