help with my crystal ball

What do I have to do to unlock my crystal ball!! I know I haven't had it that long, and that eventually I will realize what is in it, but is there anything I can do to speed up the process? I know it is cold to the touch, (gets colder the longer it is held) and i know it is a clean freak. (gets foggy if I don't remember to clean my fingerprint smudges off before I put it away.)
HELP!!
also, divination work. what are some methods I can try with my ball?

I think if you are looking for a quick way to get to grips with this, you will probably find it slower and more frustrating!  There is no quick and easy way - if some people take to it quicker, it's because they're very lucky, or perhaps already practised in similar ways of thinking.  I would advise taking a step back and preparing to spend some time tuning your mind into your crystal before you can expect any results.
Whenever I get a new divination tool, I always begin by a cleansing ritual, followed by a period of empowerment - for instance bathing the crystal in moonlight for a month, or once a month for a year, depending on the kind of influence you want.  You can then spend this time familiarising yourself with the crystal, and opening your mind up to the new possibilities.
After that, I would go along with the information in the article Midian linked to, it looks very good to me!

I haven't looked at the link that was provided, but I can tell you that it will take practice. You may more than likely see images in your mind, rather than in the ball itself. Concentrate on looking into the ball, rather than just looking at it. Soon things will go foggy, and clear your mind, and let it roam with images, as mundane as they may seem. Think of it as your mental faculties "booting up". Write down what you see each time you use your ball, and soon things will become clearer. Good Luck.

I got a ball from a local occult supply store and here's a couple of things I did to familiarize myself with it:

1: Take it to bed with you and wrap your arms protectively around it while you sleep.

2: Nourish its energies by daily cleaning it and "feeding" it by pouring cold, fresh  milk over the ball's surface.

3: Talk, sing or hum softly to it at every oppertunity. Just don't do it around other people or they'll likely put you away.

4: Light some sweet-smelling incense and hold the ball in the rising smoke, which serves both as an offering to its innate life essence and as a cleansing.

After a few weeks of this, you should start to feel more familiar with your crystal ball, like it's an old chair or a well-worn pair of shoes.
